On most Daihatsu models the SRS ECU sits beneath the centre console on kei and light-vehicle layouts. Exact brackets vary by year and body style, so use the workshop manual for torque and trim clips when available. Look for a metal or plastic housing with multi-pin connectors - often with yellow SRS wiring.
Step-by-step removal
- Battery disconnect - Isolate the negative terminal and wait at least 15 minutes.
- Trim access - Remove the centre console or lower dash panels needed to see the module.
- Photograph labels - Capture the airbag part number, Maker marks, and any Memory chip ID.
- Unplug connectors - Release locks on SRS plugs; do not pull on wires.
- Unbolt and remove - Take the ECU to the bench for reading.
