Module removal

How to remove the airbag module on a Iveco

Bench technician guide to locating and removing the Iveco SRS airbag ECU before a crash data file reset.

Removing the Iveco airbag control module (SRS ECU) is the first step before reading an EEPROM/MCU dump and clearing crash data on the bench. This guide covers safe disconnect practice, typical module location on Iveco vehicles, and how to match your part in the AIRBAG database.

Safety: Work only on a vehicle you are authorised to repair. Disconnect the battery and wait before unplugging SRS connectors. AIRBAG is for lawful bench repair - not in-vehicle diagnostics.

Where is the airbag module on a

On most Iveco models the SRS ECU sits behind the dash panel or under the centre stack in commercial cab layouts. Exact brackets vary by year and body style, so use the workshop manual for torque and trim clips when available. Look for a metal or plastic housing with multi-pin connectors - often with yellow SRS wiring.

Step-by-step removal

  1. Battery disconnect - Isolate the negative terminal and wait at least 15 minutes.
  2. Trim access - Remove the centre console or lower dash panels needed to see the module.
  3. Photograph labels - Capture the airbag part number, Maker marks, and any Memory chip ID.
  4. Unplug connectors - Release locks on SRS plugs; do not pull on wires.
  5. Unbolt and remove - Take the ECU to the bench for reading.

Iveco-specific notes

Iveco commercial SRS controllers differ from passenger cars - never assume dump size from a Fiat passenger module.

Match the dump before crash data reset

After removal, read the full memory image and confirm it matches the File size listed for your Iveco airbag part number. Learn more in how airbag ECU crash data works, then use Search & upload to submit the dump.

Find Iveco modules in the database

Filter the supported modules list by vehicle make IVECO or paste the part number into Find for autofill of Memory and size.
